After the short drive home it was time to find out just what sort of car you buy for £1000
The drive home was only 10 miles but proved the mechanics of the car were sound. The big pile of genuine BMW dealer service invoices, complete owners pack and spare key seam to back this up.
The engine pulls like a train, its super quiet at idle and normal driving but kick the gear box down , plant your foot into the carpet and the straight six petrol engine roars and uses its 232bhp to launch you down the road at some speed.

The auto gearbox shifts smoothly through all the gears and knocking the shift lever to the left puts a little S on the gear indicator display which is part of the main dash board. The engine and gearbox only change up at 7000 rpm great fun but I swear you can see the fuel gauge dropping!
The suspension and brakes work fine with no unwanted noises from under the car.
The tyre's will need changing soon but I did find the spare wheel in the boot which has never been fitted from new.

The interior is a nice place to be, the leather seats show no signs of wear even after 160'000 odd miles. The back seats don't seam to have been used.

There are a few small stone chips on the bonnet and front wings which will need attention before rust takes hold.

The lower tailgate on its lower inner lip has started to rust badly and will probably need to be replaced. Its not that noticeable from the rear with out looking for it.

Checking through the electrics every thing moves by electric power the seats even the steering wheel rake adjustment. The climate control works 100% and the air con blows icy cold. All the lights work and mirrors.
There seams to be an engine light on some times and the parking sensors don't work.
The cars speakers only seam to work on the left hand side while the cd changer in the boot allowed me to load my 6 cd's in to the changer but wont play them all eject now.
The Sat Nav works but is a little out of date. The screen on the other hand has started to get a few random spots on it and isn't that bright.
So what do you get for £1000? quite a.lot one hell of a car but will need a little work
